Grant Application

The Gloria C. MacKenzie Foundation invites eligible organizations to apply for grant funding that supports education, vocational training, and public non-profit development in Maine. We prioritize programs that benefit residents of Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Aroostook counties and advance meaningful community impact.

Initial Grant Application

The Initial Grant Application will facilitate preliminary determination of whether your organization’s needs are consistent with our mission and if your organization qualifies for further grant consideration.

To begin the process, fill out the Initial Grant Application online form

Any information you submit to the Foundation will be considered in accordance with the Terms Of Use and Privacy Policy.

​

Provided that your Initial Grant Application is received on time and is complete, the Foundation will review your application. If your Initial Grant Application is approved for further consideration, you will receive a letter with the Final Grant Application which must be completed and submitted by June 30. If your application does not meet our requirements, we will notify you by April 15. The applicants not being forwarded to the Final Grant Application will be notified by April 15.

Final Grant Application

The Foundation will review and respond to each Final Grant Application.  If additional information or clarification is needed, you will be contacted.  During this process, we may require a representative from your organization to make a presentation or may require that your organization provide a facility tour.  The Final Grant Application will only be accepted by US mail and must be postmarked by June 30. Once our due diligence is complete and the Board of Directors has made a final decision regarding your grant request, you will receive a letter of acceptance or non-acceptance. You will receive your letter by September 30. If accepted, you will receive notification of the requirements remaining to complete the grant funding. Accepted grants will be distributed in December.

The Foundation reserves the right to require a written quarterly status report of the project or program through conclusion as well as any other requirements noted in the Final Grant Agreement. This report will be distributed to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
